Everybody wishes for a peaceful night’s sleep .. but not everybody gets one.
In this day and age it is becoming harder and harder to easily have a peaceful and refreshing night of sleep, that’s because our society is always awake and there’s always something to do and some news going on. In the past, night time meant darkness, nobody saw anything so it is hard to do any activities after sunset, but in this age lights are always on and there’s a ton of activities that you can do at any given moment which means it’s not a simple equation anymore going to sleep.
Nobody can deny the importance of sleep for any activity that we do in daytime, it is important for digestion, work, study, productivity, and more, without proper sleep your body will suffer and you won’t enjoy your day. So it might seem fun to stay awake all night watching your favorite movie, but it is actually very harmful in the long term to do that.
To have peaceful sleep that is refreshing and regenerating you need to have a plan, because your sleep is a full system that needs to be organized, as a rule “everything affects your sleep and your sleep affects everything”, that means that your diet, your activities, if you are exercising, your thoughts, if you have a certain illness, if you take some kind of a medicine or if you take herbs, there’s a lot of factors that go into your sleep, in this article I will focus on the most important elements in my opinion.
Before we get started I want to ask you a question: what do you want to optimize your sleep for?
If you want to optimize your sleep for solving a pain you are suffering in your body, specifically back, neck, or shoulder pain then the most important element for this issue would be the pillow and the mattress.
The idea is that your body is a physical material that gets affected by the different types of stresses just like any other material, wrong positions would lead to applying stress on the wrong elements of your body causing pain, when you put the load of your weight on a weak bone that can’t handle this load it will start to complain by producing pain signals to your brain.
The right kind of pillows and mattresses can help you distribute that load properly on the right elements causing relief to most parts of your body and giving your body a chance to heal from the pain caused by sleeping in wrong positions.
Another kind of pain that you may suffer from and sleep can solve is mental pain, if you suffer from stress, depression, anxiety, insomnia, lack of productivity, or lack of focus, sleep can solve these issues.
The most important element in all of these issues is a tight sleep system, what I mean by that is by having a sleep routine and a sleep plan that you are always committed to your productivity will increase, your focus will be better, you will suffer from less stress, insomnia can disappear, and your overall mood will be better.
The most important part of a sleeping plan in my opinion, is the routine, routine means your body would operate on automatic mode, with minimal effort from you, building that routine though can be a struggle, but it is a well worth it investment. So look for ways to build your sleep routine so your body gets automatically into the sleeping mode if certain set of conditions are met, this would lead to lots of positive results and you will be able to enjoy your life a lot better when your sleep is fixed.
Believe it or not, your sleep can affect your beauty and how you look, and the most important elements of sleep may vary depending on what exactly do you want to optimize your sleep for.
For example if you suffer from acne or wrinkles, then the most important element in sleep would be your bed sheets and pillowcases, why is that you may ask, that’s because your bed sheets and pillowcases stay in contact with your skin for long periods of time so they affect your skin in many ways, from hydration to allergies, how your skin look is important for you in many ways, it has a powerful psychological impact on you so it is important to get right and your sleep can help you do so.
So these where the most important elements in order to achieve your goals with your sleep, if you suffer from physical pain you need to take care of your pillow and mattress, if you suffer from mental pain you need to take care of the quality of your sleep and to take special care of your sleep routine and if you want to improve your beauty you will need to take care of your bed sheets and pillowcases.
